IRS Representation in Every State and the District
Experienced representation for taxpayers and business owners dealing with IRS notices, audits, back taxes, and collection. Oasis provides services in all states and the District.

Why Federal IRS Representation Is Not Limited by Where You Live
IRS collection is a federal process. A CP504 means the same thing in Oregon that it means in Virginia, the deadline printed on an LT11 runs the same number of days, and penalties and interest accrue at the same rate. The agency on the letterhead is the same agency no matter which state the envelope arrived in.
That is why representation is not tied to where you live the way a state filing is. Oasis provides services in all states and the District, and also has overseas clients. The team includes CPAs and EAs based in various parts of the country.
Our office is located at 13873 Park Center Rd, Suite 353, Herndon, VA 20171, and you can reach us at +1-703-972-5777. If an IRS letter has arrived, the deadline printed on it is what matters first. Every notice carries one, and the options available to you narrow at each stage. Start with the guide for your notice below, then book a call.
When You Need Representation
If any of these describe your situation, it is worth a conversation now, not after the next deadline passes.
You received an IRS notice
A CP or LT letter arrived and you are not sure what it means or what to do.
You owe back taxes
A balance you cannot pay in full is growing with penalties and interest.
You are being audited
The IRS is examining a return and you want someone in your corner.
Collection has started
You are facing a lien, a levy, or wage garnishment, or a warning of one.
You have unfiled returns
Years are missing and you need to get compliant without making it worse.
You want to settle
You have heard you may be able to reduce what you owe and want to know if you qualify.
Questions About Working With Us From Another State
What people ask when the firm is in Virginia and they are not.
Can a CPA in Virginia represent me if I live in another state?
Yes. Representation before the IRS is governed by federal rules rather than state licensing. A CPA, enrolled agent, or attorney in good standing may represent a taxpayer before the IRS once you sign Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative. That federal authorization is what grants the authority, so the state your representative practices in does not limit where they can act for you. Oasis provides services in all states and the District, and also has overseas clients.
Does it matter which IRS office my notice came from?
For how you respond, usually not. The notice code tells you what stage you have reached and how long you have to act, and that meaning does not change from one service center to another. What the return address affects is where the response is sent and which unit holds the case, which your representative handles. Read the code and the date on the letter first, not the city on the envelope. Every guide below is organized by notice code for exactly that reason.
How does representation work if we never meet in person?
The same way it works for a client down the road. Form 2848 is signed and filed, documents are exchanged through a secure online client portal, and conversations happen by phone or video. Once the authorization is on file the IRS communicates with your representative directly, so reading notices, meeting deadlines, and negotiating a resolution all proceed without you needing to be in a particular place. If you would rather start by talking it through, the office number is +1-703-972-5777.
